Would You Do This?

I found this post about recycling junk mail. Would you do this?

For about a year now I have a little game I like to play with all my

junk mail. This whole idea actually came from Andy Rooney on 60 minutes (lovethat guy).

I have a little box in my kitchen next to my other mail piles for the

junk mail. When I have about half dozen I switch out all the info in the

envelopes and send the prepaid envelopes back with someone else%26#039;s offer. I do rip off my

name usually. Only because I don%26#039;t like anyone getting a hand on things

like credit card offers with my name on it. But visa gets MasterCard sprint gets

verizon ect. It takes a few extra minutes out of my week but it%26#039;s worth the

chuckle when I think of the one opening the mail and being confused. And yes, it

does help keep the post office running and open. Over time the cost of stamps

have gone up and small post offices are closing. With the use of email and the

internet not many people write letters. Even the fact that many banks and credit

cards offer to stop sending your statements in the mail have an effect. So I

might as well resend those envelopes and make the companies pay for their junkmail

(I heard that the only time they pay for the return envelope is if its used.)

And keep the post office busy.

hahahahahahahaahahahahahaahahha thats is great!!!!!! i really must try that one time! lol|||It sounds kinda funny....especially if the person opening it is having a bad day.....but have no time to do it.|||I would totally do it that sounds awesome! I hate junk mail and telemarketers too. I talk back to the robot telemarketers and the real ones are fun to string along and then change the subject.|||Andy Rooney does light humor, and is there on tv for us to laugh at his antics. Sometimes he has some good ideas, as long as they aren%26#039;t abuse. A lot of the organizations we receive junk mail from don%26#039;t give a good percentage of money to the people they represent anyway, so if we send back the return envelope and tell them to stop bugging us (and we don%26#039;t know where they got our address from) then I think that%26#039;s appropriate. To do a lot more than that I think is inappropriate.|||Smittybo I wish I had thought of it first -- while we don%26#039;t get much junk mail here in Oz (and you can put a sign on your mail (they call them post boxes here) box that reads %26quot;no junk mail%26quot; and they must obey it -- it really cuts down on the mail I don%26#039;t want. However, I have a mail box in the US and occasionally my mail is forwarded and they even forward the junk mail even though I have told them not to -- can you believe it cost me $23 last time for an 8 X 11 envelope full of junk mail. I need relief.|||OMG you are too funny. I would think that a better way of recycling this junk is to put it through a shredder, then put it into a compost worm farm!

sigh, what am I gonna do with you?!?!|||this is too funny! first, my dad is crazy! second, he doesn%26#039;t like junk mail. he takes the junk mail and if they send one of those prepaid envelopes he will send it back to them. he just puts whatever they want in the envelope and doesn%26#039;t fill out anything. or he%26#039;ll write some smart@ss comment like %26quot;no thanks.%26quot;. personally, i hate that he does this. i find it childish. i admit that sometimes i do laugh about it. but, if i was on the other end i would be annoyed. very annoyed.
